You may be eligible for a new OCI card if:
- You are a former Indian citizen who has acquired foreign nationality
- You were born outside India to Indian parents or grandparents
- You are a minor child with at least one parent who is/was an Indian citizen
- You are married to an Indian citizen or existing OCI cardholder (married for 2+ years)

- Exit permit/stay visa issued after birth in India and Exit stamps on passport when first left India OR
- Notary affidavit in original from UK stating the fact and how he/she travelled to UK
- If born in India between 26 January 1950 - 30 June 1987: Indian Birth Certificate OR School Educational Certificate OR
- Proof of Indian Origin of Applicants Parents/Grand Parents/Great Grand Parents
Minor Applicant (Under 18)
- All the documents required in one of the categories above - (For signature, if the child is below 5 years of age, they are required to provide their left thumb fingerprint. If the child is above 5 years of age, they are required to sign or write their name)
- Employment letter - NOT REQUIRED
- Current passport copy of BOTH parents
- Registered Marriage Certificate of Parents OR
- If both parents are divorced: A court order of dissolution of marriage OR
- If both parents share joint custody: A duly notarized consent letter from both parents to apply for OCI for the child OR a specific court order giving permission to one of the parents for the issue of the OCI to the child OR
- In case of Live-in, adopted child and Surrogacy: All relevant documents need to be submitted
- Name change deed (If applicable)

On Basis Of Spouse (After At Least 2 Years Of Marriage)
